Eklil Hakimi, the Minister of Finance met with Mr. Gunnar Weigand, Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific of the European External Action Service today April 26, 2016 at his office.
In the meeting in which H.E. Franz-Michael Mellbin, the EU Special Representative/Head of European Union Delegation to Afghanistan was also present, a range of issues discussed including Self Reliance documents, Revenue collection, reforms by Afghan Government, Afghanistan National Development Strategy(ANDS), Anti-Corruption, regional cooperation, migration and preparations for the WARSAW and Brussels conferences.
Minister Hakimi thanked EU for hosting the Brussels conference and assured them about Afghan Government preparations for both conferences. He emphasized on connectivity of two conferences for the development and security of Afghanistan.
In addition, He talked about the vision of Afghan Government based on the priorities for coming years in different sectors such as Agriculture, Transport, Infrastructure and some other key areas.
Mr. Gunnar Weigand briefed the Minister about Agenda and side events of the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan. He hoped that these conferences will have better results for the future progress, security and development of Afghanistan.
