From years it’s well known among afghan officials and local residents that cold weather and snow effectively decrease insurgents’ destructive activities but now Afghan official says they used this season for expanding security to far away villages and to improve ANDSF capabilities.
Zabul deputy police Chief Col. Ghulam Jilani Farahi says they used winter opportunity for enlarging security area and defeat insurgency.
“Our brave security forces conducted successful clearance operation in Arghandab, Tarnak wa Jaldak and Shinkay districts of Zabul province, created several new check posts and cleared large territories from Taliban presence”.
Zabul police Commander Gen. Mirwais Noorzai says beside ANDSF ground operation Afghan air force and support aircrafts are successfully targeting insurgents’ sanctuaries in mountains and rural areas of the province.
“During different accurate air raids in Naw Bahar, Arghandab, Daychopan districts several insurgents were killed including some important and well known Daesh and Taliban commanders and foreign fighters”.
Despite successful operation in different parts of the province Zabul officials are also focusing on strengthening capabilities of troops, during last two months of winter 140 ANP and ALP were attended in midterm training program in Zabul police training academy.
Provincial council chief Haji Ata Jan Haqbayan says during last summer militants and their foreign supporters do their best to take control of some districts in Zabul but they were defeated and can’t gain ground in any part of the province.
“We are proud of afghan national army, national police and NDS for their sacrifices and braveness against enemy of peace and all people are supporting them in whatever method they can.
