Ministry of Finance (MoF) launched the second round of reforms under Public Financial Management Roadmap II (PFMRII) after successfully completing the first Public Financial Management Roadmap. Completion of PFMR marks a milestone achievement in the history of Public Financial Management in Afghanistan as it was one of the first National Priority Programs (NPP). The second round of reforms aimed at further improving public finances has already begun.
Deputy Minister Mustafa Mastoor congratulated all the stakeholders that were involved in the process, during the workshop that was organized at Serena Hotel, on Monday, February 8, 2014. "This truly is a remarkable achievement. We did not simply achieve some of the targets, we surpassed our targets." Deputy Minister Mastoor concluded.
The one day workshop held was part of a four stage programme to formulate the PFMRII by mid April 2014. The workshop was financed by Department for International Development (DFID) and organized by MoF. Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), Supreme Audit Office, representatives from Development Partners and some other entities are all part of the PFMR and actively participated in the workshop.
