The new president would be sworn in next week, the election campaign teams announced on Sunday, hours after the candidates signed a power-sharing deal.
At a news conference, a spokesman for the Dr. Abdullah-led Reform and Unanimity team urged organisers to arrange the swearing-in ceremony on Sept. 29 in a befitting manner.
Syed Hussain Sancharaki high-ranking foreign dignitaries, Afghan government officials and jihadi leaders would attend the oath-taking event.
Meanwhile, the Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai camp also confirmed the ceremony was set for Monday. Ahmadzai will be the new president and Abdullah the chief executive, a specially created slot.
