The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) on Tuesday welcomed the signing of both the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) and the NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).
These agreements provide the legal framework for the United States, NATO, and its partner nations continued commitment to train, advise, and assist Afghan National Security Forces, ISAF said in a statement.
"With the BSA and SOFA in place, we look forward to supporting the ANSF and Afghan security institutions with the NATO Resolute Support Mission,” said US Army Gen. John F. Campbell, commander of ISAF.
“These agreements are a clear sign of our commitment to supporting security and stability in Afghanistan". the statement added.
