The Afghan National Army (ANA) infantry battalion on Tuesday conducted a military exercise to show its capabilities following the takeover of security responsibilities from NATO.
The exercise was conducted in the Ministry of Defence (MoD) education centre east of Kabul. Brig. Gen. Amin Pateani, MoD education centre commander, said with such exercises soldiers could bolster their abilities.He added their trainings were in line with NATO’s training programmes. The exercise involved using of light and heavy weaponries, conducting raid on enemy hideouts, and neutralizing explosives.Abdul Khalil, one of the participating soldiers, said the exercise prepared them for the real battles in the field.
