Minister Nasir Ahmad Durrani, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development met this afternoon with the Japanese Ambassador, Mr. HiroshiTakaheshi.
In the meeting which took place at the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on the issues of expanding bilateral relations for the rural development of Afghanistan and employment opportunities.
During this meeting, Japan’s Ambassador said that his country is determined to further extend their cooperation with the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in the future.
“Japan will provide support from the construction of small irrigation dams, equipment of Afghanistan Institute for Rural Development and capacity building under the auspices of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.” Ambassador Hiroshi Takaheshi stated.
At the same time, Ambassador Hiroshi Takaheshi reiterated his government’s continuous cooperation with the national developmental programmes as well.
Thanking Japan for providing assistance to Afghanistan; particularly in rural development through JICA, Minister Durrani attached great importance and value to Japan’s cooperation with Afghanistan in terms of rural development and urged the government of Japan to continue their contributions towards the sustainability of rural development of Afghanistan.
