Anderson: Australia remains committed to the long-term partnership with Afghanistan

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, where Minister Durrani and Ambassador Anderson discussed various issues including rural development, poverty alleviation, employment opportunities and Australian assistance to Afghanistan.

Minister Durrani thanked Ambassador Anderson for Australia’s assistance to Afghanistan for more than a decade and said that Australia’s cooperation has been vital to Afghanistan.

Reiterating Australia’s enduring support to Afghanistan, Mr. Anderson said his country remains committed to the long-term partnership with Afghanistan and stands ready to help the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development. Ambassador Anderson said that Australia gives special attention to Afghanistan, where the implementation of development projects in Urozgan province will be supported by Australia.
