Minister Nasir Ahmad Durrani, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development inaugurated today the start of work on nearly three-km road in Qal-e-Salim Khan village of Farza district of Kabul province.
Upon the completion of this project Qal-e-Merza, Qal-e-Salim Khan Payeen and Qal-e-Khak Shaheedan villages will be connected with Farza district, rural people will have improved access to local markets and education and health facilities.
This development project will be implemented at a budget of AFN 24.5 million by the National Rural Access Programme of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (NRAP/MRRD), with the financial support of World Bank.
Approximately, 15945 labour days will be created for 8000 local people during the implementation of this project.
Addressing those at the inaugural ceremony, Minister Durrani briefly described the developmental goals of his Ministry and asked the local people to pay attention to the maintenance and protection of the implemented projects to ensure their sustainability into the future.
District Governor of Farza who was also attended the inaugural ceremony for the road project lauded the 100 Day Action Plan of the MRRD and its developmental activities. He wanted from the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development to implement further development projects in Farza district.
So far, the National Rural Access Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (NRAP/MRRD) has been able to hand over 250-km roads and 180-m bridges through out Kabul province.
