President Ghani Assessed Security Situation of Country from Germany via Video Teleconference


president-ghani-callsPresident Mohammad Ashraf Ghani was briefed this afternoon on the general situation of the country via video teleconference by senior government authorities.

The video teleconference which was attended by second Vice President Sarwar Danish, Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, President’s Special Representative Ahmad Zia Massoud, Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs, National Security Advisor and Director General of the National Directorate of Security.

Touching on the security situation of the country and recent developments, President Ghani said that our concern is the future of Afghanistan and our ultimate goal is bringing dignified and durable peace to the country.

The President said that he has been in touch with the leaders of the Pakistani government on peace and stability between the two countries and in the region, and that he will spare no efforts to that end.

President Ghani praised the performance and dedication of the National Security Forces while discussing the recent security developments in the country.

The President advised that Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Suez Canal in Egypt on behalf of Afghanistan.

The President also issued the necessary instructions to Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani concerning the upcoming trip of the President of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan

At the end of the video conference, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani stated that he had undergone a successful operation on his foot and that he is in much better condition now. The President added that he will return home as soon as possible on the doctors’ advice.

It is worth mentioning that President Ghani left to Germany four days ago for treatment of his foot on his doctor’s advice.
