The acting defense minister, Masoom Stanekzai, on Sunday addressed a graduation ceremony of 1,400 army cadets where he called on the new recruits to perform their duties seriously.
He said Afghan security force members will get more airplanes and better equipment in the near future.
"All those who are against the country and the citizens should not be calm; this is your duty to target them," said Stanekzai.
He said the international community has pledged to provide modern military hardware to the Afghan security forces.
"The international community has vowed to replace some military equipment within the next six months and also provide us with new equipment," Stanekzai said.
He added: "This will be a good step forward to enhance the intelligence capacity of the security forces."
Commander of the defense ministry's military academy, Mohmand Katawazi, meanwhile urged the army recruits to be serious in their fight against the enemy as the enemy is fighting Afghanistan with the help of other countries.
"You will fight against the enemy that fights for some neighboring countries - and are supported by them. You have to be serious in this regard," he said.
Meanwhile, the graduates said they will leave no stone unturned in defending the country's sovereignty and independence and that they will put their hearts and souls into defending their country.
"I will defend my country and will save it by putting my heart and soul into my duty," said Farid Ahmad, one of the graduates.
Another graduate, Amanullah, said: "I want to assure the people that I am fully ready to go to the battle field and defend the country."
