Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Cooperations Mrs. Adela Raz met today in her office with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Afghanistan, Mr. Emilio Pérez de Agreda.
In the meeting the two sides discussed issues of mutual interests, especially the friendly and historical relationships between Afghanistan and Spain, and described work on cultural issues, tourism and historical monuments to introduce the real face of Afghanistan to the world worthwhile. He also reassured of his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan in the mentioned areas and women empowerment.
In return, Mrs. Raz expressed her gratitude for Spain’s cooperation and assistance in various spheres, including maintain security and stability over the last 14 years. She also underscored the importance of work on cultural issues, tourism and women empowerment and considered them as priorities for the Afghan Government.
In addition, Mrs. Raz called short-term scholarships for Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army, NDS and staff of Ministry of Foreign Affairs very important and asked the Government of Spain to support Afghanistan’s candidacy for membership in the United Nations human rights council for the period of 2018 and 2020.
