Contracts worth 7.3b Afghanis approved including power transmission for Bamiyan

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said the new contracts were approved during the last meeting of the National Procurement Commission chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani late on Sunday.
The contracts approved during the meeting include the construction of power transmission line of 220kV from Doshi to Bamiyan where a substation will also be built.
The National Procurement Commission also approved the contract for th construction of the electricity distribution network in Bamiyan province.
Other contracts approved during the meeting include construction of the Carpet Weavers Township in Jalalabad city and procurement of raw material for the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing projects.
According to ARG Palace, the National Procurement Commission also approved the contracts for the hostel for the students of Kandahar University, contract for the supervision of the construction of the new Embassy Compound of Afghanistan in Islamabad, and contract for the procurement of food items for the Ministry of Defense.
Two other contracts including procurement of food items for the administrative office of the president and procurement of the generator set for the administrative officer were also approved, ARG Palace added.
