The survey for two-lane Kandahar-Spinboldak carriageway in this southern province would be completed within a month, an official said on Tuesday.
Survey for the 80 kilometres long and nine metres wide road was launched by a 12-member team of the ministry public works, Abdul Muhammad Ihsan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Private properties that would come within the peripheries of the project and its cost would be known once the survey was completed, Ihsan, the Kandahar public works director said. He said a similar road would be extended close to the existed one, with separation barriers between the two.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Toryalai Weesa said Kandahar-Spinboldak highway would play vital role in the country’s economic growth. He thanked the public works ministry for launching initial work of the vital project.
After completion, he said the project would boost transit trade and facilitate commuters.
