The ambush took place in the Shaki village, Marjah district of southern Helmand province, last night.

In a separate report, one woman killed and four other civilians were wounded when a rocket hit a residential place in the Shila village, Sangin district of southern Helmand province.

The wounded persons have been rushed to hospital by Afghan National Police.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs expresses its deepest condolences to the families and relatives who lost their lives in this incident.
