Paktika and new development projects


At a cost of more than AFN 16,933,000 funded by the National Solidarity Programme of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/NSP) including 10% community contribution 14 infrastructure projects have recently been completed in the provincial capital, Zarghon Shahr and Yousef Khel districts of Paktika province.

These projects encompass the construction of rural road 7.6-km in length, 10 thousand meters road side ditches, 150 culverts, protection wall 75-m in length, 9 community centers, four water supply networks, two micro hydro power plants, excavation of eight safe drinking water wells and professional courses. Approximately, 2,339 families in different communities had an opportunity to gain access to basic human needs upon completion of these projects.
