The spy service on Friday said it operatives had seized and defused an explosives-laden car and a bomb-rigged motorcycle in southern Helmand province.
The car and the bike were seized in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, and Greshk district, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said in a statement, without mentioning the exact dates of the seizure.
The statement also said intelligence agents confiscated some weapons and ammunition from militant hideouts during operations in Greshk, Nehri Saraj and Marja districts.
The seizure included four AK-47 assault rifles, 60 kg of explosives, two walkie-talkies, two pistols, three shotguns, one rocket-propelled grenade launcher, two motorcycles and hundreds of bullets of various guns and military equipment.
Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the seizure.
