President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with a number of scholars this morning. In the meeting that took place in Arg Palace, the President called the role of scholars in national matters important.
He reiterated that the main goal of the government is to bridge any distance between Arg and mosque.
President Ghani said that peace is the desire of the people of Afghanistan and reiterated the role of scholars in ensuring it. The President added that our country is unfortunately faced with an imposed war.
In this meeting, the scholars called peace a divine matter and reiterated their support for the government’s efforts to ensure peace in the country.
The President also said that the government has taken serious measures to provide all the necessary facilities for Afghan Hajjis who are making pilgrimage to Mecca this year. He added that the Minister of Hajj and Religious affairs is presently on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide these facilities.
