Twenty-six female students on Friday completed the memorization of Holy Quran at Abu Zar Ghafari Religious School in central Parwan province.
The girls memorized the holy book in three to four years and completed studies from 9th grade to 11th grade in the religious school, principal of the school, Abdul Hameed, told Pajhwok Afghan News, adding that the graduates were honoured with shawls, a sign of becoming Hafiz -- Quran memoriser.
According to the principal, there are 321 students in the seminary in Deh Bala area of Jablus Siraj district being supported by the education department.
The education department spokesman, Sifat-ur-Rahman Salehi, happy over the memorization of Holy Quran by the girls, urged parents to send their children especially girls to schools for education.
Jamaluddin, father of Shamsia, said he was happy that his daughter had completed the memorization of Quran.
He said his daughter would get more religious education and would serve the people with Islamic education.
