Irrigation and orchard projects in northern Afghanistan enable to improve their agricultural products and earn better income.
NHLP is a Japanese-funded agriculture project, focused on providing training for farmers, employment opportunities for women, and improving irrigation systems. Ahmad Faheem Jabari, an NHLP official said that many farmers in the north benefited from the projects. “NHLP built 94 reservoirs and irrigation systems supplying water to tens of acres of farmland,” he said. “In addition, we constructed many greenhouses where men and women farmers can produce vegetables to make a living at the local markets.”
