An irrigation canal was established in Herat Province at a cost 82 million AFN. The project was set up in the Obeh district of Herat province.
The head of the irrigation department in Herat province said the water canal is being constructed from the World Bank budget.
He said the project would irrigate 1,000 hectares of agricultural land.
Also Herat Governor's spokesman says the construction of irrigation canals is effective in equitable distribution of water and prevention of water loss.
On the other hand, Obeh district residents are grateful to the government.
They say that the implementation of these projects is effective in the growth of agricultural crops and the economy of the people.
