A major Research and Capacity Development Center was inaugurated in the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing of Afghanistan in a bid to conduct research for resolving the key urban issues of the country.

A major Research and Capacity Development Center was inaugurated in the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing of Afghanistan in a bid to conduct research for resolving the key urban issues of the country.

The center was inaugurated during a ceremony in Kabul today and in the presence of Minister of Urban Development and Housing Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi and other high level officials.

According to the officials, the center will conduct research and studies regarding the available issues and challenges in a bid to carry out the required work for resolving the issues.

Around 115 million Afghanis have been spent on the construction of the center which has been built on an area covering around one acre of land.

The Minister of Urban Development and Housing Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi said the center consists five sections, including the working office, conference and seminars hall, laboratory, lecture rooms, technical offices and other facilities.

He said the center has been built by the Housing Enterprise taking into consideration the recognized standards.

Minister Naderi further added that he is hopeful that the major research and capacity building center will respond to the available demands for research and capacity building in terms of urban development.
